Help! I have a WRT54GS connected to my cable modem and one pc connected to port 1 on the back. I have a WRT54G that I want to use as a access point wirelessly in another room with 4 PC's connected to it. I also want ot use the wireless function of it.

How do I set it all up without having to upgrade the firmware. Or am I better of just upgrading?

    Thanks

You will not be able to connect four PCs to a WRT54G that you want to use as a ccess point unless you connect another switch to it since to use it as an access point you must use one of its LAN ports to connect to the router that connects to your cable modem. There is information at this website on how to connect two WRT54Gs together it will work if yioou use your WRT54GS as the first router. Here is the link to the information:

I understand that there is software to connect your XBOX. The software is KAI.

Yes i know of that KAI

    And that works great also.

Just wanted to see if it would be able to connect my xbox on that second router, en make then a Wifi connection to my xbox from my pc

En not just for Online gaming, that is, use it also voor storing data etc..

Now my Xbox is connected | router 1 with cable
From the pc i can connect on it. But the speed is 'nt that great. Less then 2mb/sec

You can use Sveasoft Achemy or Satori firmware and use the WRT54G as a wireless client, the Achemy is in beta and supports more than one client. The Satori can only support one client at a time. I have been playong with both, but still have issues. I can not get an ipaddress from my wireless client. Maybe someone else can help you in the Satori forum at this site. You have to register and pay $20.00 for the Achemy. The Satori is available for down at this site.
