WRT54G bridged with BEFW11S4 v4

I'd appreciate any help concerning this topic. I have searched around and found out that yes, I can bridge between the WRT54G and the BEFW11S4 v4. However, I still have some questions.
    1. Can WPA now be used with the latest firmware (1.52) of the BEFW11S4?
    2. Since I'm a cheap, stingy guy and only bought the BEFW11S4 because it was FAR, I would like to know if there is any way to bridge two of them, or any reliable way to bridge between a WAP11 and a BEFW11S4?
My situation: I'd like to hook up an Xbox to one of the units and send the signal to the upstairs router wirelessly, as it is a hassle to run a patch cable.
    3. In your opinion, should I just give up and go buy a WRT54G? Would this cause problems as I'd then have three routers (the BEFW11S4, the WRT54G, and another Linksys router which is plugged into the cable modem)? Or should I try to find a good deal on the WAP54G? Is it as widely support (ie: third-party firmware) as the WRT54G?

    Thanks for the help!
