    Hello,
I'm trying to find information on how to connect to a wlan by selecting a MAC address,
An, example : 3 APs on same channel, and have same ssid ("linksys") but different MAC addresses. Is there any way to "tell" the router to prefer one of those?
    Thanks.

Again... I can't control those APs. My question was " How to tell the router to use a specific one by MAC (since they're all on same channel and have same ssid) "...
    Somebody else ???
    Thanks.

first of all you never said the you did not have control over the networks you said:
noware does it say that "i dont have control over the aps......"
anyway what are you using on your client, because i know that the dlink adapters have their own wifi program that will tell you the ssid and the mac.

    Listen pal ...
I asked a specific question, on specific forum... -> "WRTXXX Routers"
So stop telling me about D-link and other work-arounds with changing ssid of an access point.... that's not what I'm trying to do.
If you don't know the answer then please don't answer.
    Thanks !

thats a good one, it would only be funny if it made any sense.
you can keep going with the name calling and what not, but i got other things to do like help people with their linksys problems questions.
    have a nice day :)
