Hello, I'm new here. I have had many problems with the linksys WRT54G. everytime i connect my laptop to the WLAN, it always keeps disconnecting every 5 minutes. My laptop has a RealTek RTL8187 54Mbps network adaptor if that helps.

If you have any suggestions on what i should do, please reply...

    Thanks in advance

Need more info, are you using encryption (what kind)? Are you very far from the router? Do you have a wireless phone and or are you close to a microwave oven? Flourescent lights?

Are you going to the same websites doing the same thing that makes it disconnect? The more info you can give the better the chances of getting it fixed.

i'm using TKIP encryption. I'm close to the wireless router... about a meter away. The router isn't close to any of the appliances you have mentioned although there's a TV near it. No matter what I do on the internet, either surfing the internet or streaming videos, it always disconnects every few minutes
