    Hi,
I have 3.03.6 firmware and i have DSL internet. When i set my router with the PPoE, i have the net but i can't access to my hotmail box, windows update, msn page...and some more. I have the net, but to have access to my hotmail box i have to set the router to "automatic configuration". :? But if i stay with the automatic configuration i can't use my FTP or Emule, etc. :?

    Need Help! :(

Try manually setting the MTU to 1400. If that works, you can experiment with higher values to determine what is the highest value that works.

The MTU setting is on the "Basic Setup" screen. Set MTU to manual and size to 1400.

Try setting the router MTU to 1492. Also, how are you connected to the router...Via wireless or Cat5? Does your Emule simply not connect to any servers or are you just getting a Low ID? For FTP, can you not make any connections with an FTP client or are you trying to run an FTP server? Try setting your FTP client to use passive mode, or if it's already in passive mode then disable it.

For the MTU it doesnt work at 1492 either. For the FTP its for server and im wireless. My friend cannot connect when im in automatic configuration ive got to switch to PPoE where i cannot access to hotmail and the other things ive said first.

if you bypas the router and plug the ethernet wire from the cable modem to the computer will hotmail and the other stuff work.

What kind of wireless card are you using and are you using any WEP or WPA security? If so have you tried disabling security and trying an open setup? As Jagboy asked, can you get into those other sites without using the router? I assume you've configured your port forwarding in the router for your FTP server...Both Winupdate and hotmail are secure sites so maybe an SSL issue.
