Sorry if this has been posted before, but I searched the forum and couldn't find anything that quite matched up with the issues I've been having. I have a WRT54G v2.2 and HyperWRT 2.0 connected to an NTL 750kbps cable service and I've been getting some incredibly variable connection speeds and ping times to the internet. The router worked fine for several weeks after it was installed then this problem kicked in. If I use an online speed test with just one machine connected through the router I get anything between 40kbps and 700kbps as the tested speed, seemingly pretty much at random. The wireless signal is fine (and the problem still occurs even when machines are connected to the router by cable), it's just the speed of internet access that varies wildly. I've plugged machines straight into the modem and this solves the problem, so the issue must be to do with the router somewhere. I've tried the fix suggested by HillJack here and I've also disabled the router firewall and security, both to no avail. Along with this I've checked for all the usual culprits - spyware, viruses, etc. Any help regarding this situation would be much appreciated. Thanks.
