    I have a need to expand a wireless network in a house where the router and wireless desktop are separeted by 4 walls and approx 100 feet. To add to that, there is a kitchen in the middle with phones, microwave, tv, and the like. Running a cat6 cable from the router to the wireless desktop is not an easy option. I purchased a used WRT54G v1.1 in the hopes of using it as a repeater or other device to install in the kitchen and have the wireless desktop connect to it for the internet. The WRT54G connected to the cable modem is a v2. Could someone suggest simple settings that I can follow to get this setup working? I would like to not flash the routers with 3rd party firmware, unless someone can convince me its really necessary. I will do it, but I have to have a good reason. Below is a simple schematic of the proposed network.

    Cable Modem->WRT54Gv2***wireless***WRT54Gv1.1***wireless***Desktop2

    Desktop1 is connected to WRT54Gv2 via a cable.

    I could also connect the WRT54G routers together with a cat6 cable (<50 ft), and disable wireless on WRT54Gv2 as another option if need be.

    If I go to a 3rd party software for either of these, I would prefer the most user friendly version, as I am not a linux guy or programmer of any nature.

    Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
