I have a WRT 54G v.5 router, which works OK for my appl....but recently, when ckg msg. on Outlook Exp., anytime I get a 'commercial' msg., rather than from an individual, I get this msg in a popup box which is almost impossible to remove:
"The server www.(name of site) at WRT54G requires a user name & password" Warning: this server is requesting that your password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection) Can I get rid of this msg without reformatting? It has become a real pain.
    Thanks, Dan

Sounds like you may have gotten a virus or malware. Nothing should be trying to access your router except you when you need to log into it. Scan and make sure you machine is clean and currently up to date. I know over the last year or so there have been a ton of security flaws with outlook express.
