    Hi there, (first post here!)

I just updated my WRT54G v3.1 (formerly using ddr-wrt) to the latest Tomato firmware. The installation went very smooth and didn't have any complications.
The only problem I'm having right now is that I'm trying to access my router remotely from work. (like I used to do in the past)
I've enabled REMOTE Access and left the default port of 2222. I can SSH to my router from withing my home network on port 22. (so I know sshd is running)
Now I can't seem to access my router remotely on port 2222. Everything seems to be setup correctly. I even have a PORT forward setup to access 1 of my Linux boxes and it works fine. (using port 1022 going to port 22 on my linuxbox)

    any suggestions?

    thanks

I discovered that both SSH ports have to be set to the same thing for it work. Go figure.. not sure why the option to specify another port is there if both have to be the same to work. oh well.. still very happy with this firmware :)

Generally, that is not the case. I have mine set to 22 internal 2222 external, and it works fine.

If you set it to 22/2222, and ssh to the router, what does "iptables -L" show?

Figured it out.... Turns out where I work they block every single high port.. *sigh*
It's working fine if I use something below port 2000.
