Hiya i was wondering if anyone could help me i have the WRT54G router and have recently lost my connection to the internet. I configured my connection to the internet after purchase but the settings do now now not show my configuiration when i open the utillity fuction. The utillity shows linksys with a code following when i look at the settings of ths connection i have noticed that it no longer has the settings open and shared and tells me it has a bad pks password when i attempt to configure using my original wep password.

Ive also noticed that the setting displays an invalid ip address, and the function which allows you to obtain a new ip adress is not working. I have attempted to restote the router to the the factory settings but this also would not allow me to reconfigure the connecton.

Any help would be much appreciated i am at my wits end.

Okay, let me see if I understand:

Your wireless PC lost Internet. You tied to reconfigure using the utility on the PC and got no joy. You then reset the router to factory defaults. No joy?

    Is this a good summary?

If so, it sounds like you want to start from scratch. I think if you have set your router to factory defaults, and you power-cycle your Internet service cpe (the cable modem or dsl modem) you may just get the Internet back to the wireless router. Then you need to configure your computer to connect to the wirless router. You should kill the wep thing for now, because if your router is at default, it isn't using WEP.

Let me know if this helps!
