WRT54G Router's Setup Wizard CD

Since I upgraded my WRT54G V 3 with 3.03.6 firmware to 4.30.5, I´m unable to setup the Router using my router's Setup Wizard CD. In the last option of Wizard, I got this error:



I followed the instructions at http://www2.nohold.net/noHoldCust541/Prod_1/Articles57815/Updating_the_Router_Firmware.htm? but don´t work.

Only when I make the settings in the Router's Setup Page manually there is no problem.

Dont bother w/ the CD. Type "192.168.1.1" into your browser's address bar and you'll access the routers config pages.

I got a response from Linksys Technical Support:

Thank you for contacting Linksys® Technical Support. My name is Ian and I will be assisting your concern.

The router’s setup CD executable file (setup wizard) may have not been compatible with the router’s latest firmware which is the reason why you were not able to configure the router using the setup CD. However, you don’t have to worry about the setup CD because you can use the web user interface to configure any settings on the router. Linksys use the web user interface as the primary interface for checking and changing any settings on the router."

HI, does any one know where to i can download the Installion wizard file? I have a Linksys WRT54G V.3 router, and i been looking all over the net to find the Software driver CD, not the firmware. I can't use my wireless router with out the install file. PLEASE HELP.

why cant you use the router without the CD?

I can do that? I tried doing that using the Router with out the CD, but it doesn't work. Like is there any config i need to do to have the WRT54G to work in my computeR? Or i just hook it up an go with it?

Just follow this hint:

make sure your PC's IP is in the same IP-range (e.g. 192.168.1.x , x= 2 - 254)
