WRT54G Routing Problem

I am having the strangest problem with my WRT54G router all of a sudden. If my router is powered off for any reason, it no longer routes traffic from the LAN side to the WAN side. I can ping the local interface of the router from a pc, and I can ping the wan side from a pc. I can even connect to the router and ping google.com from the router, and I can ping my pc.

However, I cannot ping from my pc to anything on the other side of the wan interface.

My only option so far is to reset to factory defaults, and everything works again until the router is powered off, and then the same thing happens again

    Any ideas?

    Firmware version is: 4.21.1

Scary, you would get this if the router changed from "gateway" NAT translation mode to "router" mode. And if this means the flash memory is failing I the normal recommendation of trying a 3rd party firmware such as Tomato would be risky!

Using the small reset button on the back of the router (press and hold for 30 seconds" to "hard reset to defaults" might be better than a web gui "soft reset to defaults"?

NAT was my first suspicion, but the interface for these things isn't so complex to allow me to manipulate any settings to affect the problem.

    Bug in the firmware?

I am having the exact same problem with my router. Have you found a solution?

Out of curiosity what does the routing table look like prior to and after a power off?
