WRT54G: Setting infrastructure mode

Hello all. I am fairly new to wireless networking and have just set up my main PC and a new laptop with a Linksys WRT54G. They share a broadband internet connection and I have been configuring them to share files together not just through the standard XP Home shared files folders but also by setting sharing permissions on other folders.

I have been having intermittent problems with the two computers connecting - sometimes they do sometimes they don't - but have had no problems with internet access through either.

My main PC is wired into my WRT54G via an ethernet cable whereas my laptop is using wireless. I have been told that because of this I therefore need to make sure my router is configured for "infrastructure mode". The user guide mentions this but I cannot find where it tells you how to configure it that way. I have looked through all the settings in the browser-based WRT54G control software, but cannot find anything.

Please could someone advise how to do this.
