WRT54G telnet

I just got a WRT54G v5 and am aware it runs VxWorks. I scanned the router with nmap and got the following:

    Interesting ports on 192.168.1.1:
(The 1662 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: filtered)
    PORT STATE SERVICE
    20/tcp closed ftp-data
    21/tcp closed ftp
    23/tcp closed telnet
    80/tcp open http
    1723/tcp open pptp

Now, port 80 is obviously the configuration interface that you access via http. But what's up with telnet and ftp? Is it possible to log into the box somehow?

Also, does anyone know whether it's possible to assign a static DHCP lease in the WRT54G? I didn't find that option in the web menu.

    Thanks,

    Igor

Try logging in! With custom firmware you can definately get a shell via telnet and even ssh. FTP is there so you can shove new firmware into the router with tftp.

I tried logging in but as expected the connection failed. Ports 20, 21 and 23 are "closed" as reported by nmap. Custom firmware isn't an option either since this is version 5 of the router and it runs VxWorks, not Linux. I'm wondering whether port 1723 would be interesting to mess around with.

    Any ideas anyone?
