WRT54G telnet

    I download the hyperwrt/HyperWRT_2.1b1 now when i go to cmd telnet router ip ...i get can't open port 23...?? what am i doing wrong? also used puty download if off here can't connect?

    It is enabled in the router setup right?

    Good. That is your prompt. Now you have to type something.


    And that depends on what you want to do. Google telnet and see what you can learn.

    Can i have a user name and password so any1 can't telnet the router?

    The password you set in the admin page is going to be your password to login via telnet to your router.

    Just turn the telnet daemon off when you are done.

    telnet let me on without user/pass that is fine i guess

    with hyperwrt yes no username password is needed. telnet is lan side only.
