I've just found a new WRT54G variation distributed by Tmobile. For $50 with a $50 mail in rebate, it's practically free. The version on it indicates it's 5 something and linksys has the firmware as GPL. What are the chances that Tomato or DD-WRT can be flashed to it? If there's anything the experts might suggest to find out more about it, I'm willing to try.

Everything i can find points to this being a V6 router. Not sure if dd-wrt can be loaded but i do not believe tomato or thibor offer a small enough firmware to fit.

dd-wrt micro will work on WRT54G v6 but not tomato or thibor.

looking at the firmware update for the Linksys WRT54G-TM v1.1 shows it to be almost 4MB so i guess it could be possible this router is = v4 or lower model?

There's some nice news on the dd-wrt link I posted a bit ago. Looks like 32Mb on the ram and 8mb for the flash? It's always nice to have a confirmation from one of the experts though. ;)

Will the WRT54G-TM load the Tomato v 1.10.1188 .bin file, specifically the WRT54G_WRT54GL.bin ?
    .
It sounds like there is a method using a JTAG cable, and I'm wondering if there is a Browser or FTP method for loading Tomato. tnx much.

Slimey - Thanks. I loaded Tomato to a ver 2.0. and it works fine. The T-Mobile is suppose to have 32meg and I was hoping to access that.
