I have a Westell 6100 DSL modem, WRT54G router. Been having lots of trouble lately with lockups on the router. It'll connect for 10-15 minutes, freeze up (so much so that I can't even bring up the router status screen on my browser) and I have to power-cycle it and wait for a new IP from the modem, which can sometimes take another 10-15 minutes. Found a site that recommended various things, such as setting my IP to a static one because Windows DHCP has been known to cause such problems from time to time, that didn't work. Upgraded the router firmware as suggested as well, and that's almost working. Here's the new dilemma. With the upgraded firmware, the router talks to the modem quickly and efficiently, gets an IP from the modem for the internet, but won't pass the connection to the computers hooked up to it, hard-line OR wireless. Upgrading the firmware seems to have fixed the freezing problem, as I spent at least an hour checking all the settings on the modem, router, and my computer trying to find the problem, and it hasn't froze yet. Any idea what I'm missing?
