WRT54G: USB ? and NAS possible ?

    @ 1st i'm new in the WRT54.. and i'm just readning what this device ca... till jet it's perfect..

    But i also read thyt may the WRT54G have an USB option in it , is that true ?
    IF it is so is or will it possible to add a NAS on it ?

    This info comes from a repected German Computer Magazine c't! So i now asking this question to you?

    Hi gemini,
    Yes, the Broatcom-Chipset has USB - Support :)
    No, you are not able to use it with your WRT :-(

    Sorry for my english but I'll try to explain:
    The chip ist mounted on the Bord in a way that it's impossible to reach the pins for the "supported" usb.
    Got it?
    Next try:
    The Chip supports usb but the Board-design of the WRT does not.

    ....and another one:
    If you try the iron wires to the Broadcom chip mounted on the WRT board you will 100% destroy the chip.

    I hope, you understood what i wanted to tell.

    you could possibly trace the bridges down and find a suitable place to mount a usb port

    99% of the users will kill their board trying to do that....
