    Hi,

I read here in some other threads, that there is no way to enable 32MB of RAM in V2.2 of WRT54G 'cause there is only a 16MB chip inside. However on ebay I found a guy offering a WRT54G V2.2 [1] with enabled 32MB RAM. The offered WRT runs on so called "VerDir" Firmware (which are propably the begining letters of his name).
How can this be? Are there two versions of revision 2.2?

Here is the link (it is in german):

According to the WRT54G(S) Autopy http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=6 the WRT54G 2.2 have 32 MB with just 16 MB enabled. And I think, that I have also seen a guide somewhere (here or at the Sveasoft board), how to enable all 32 MB.

This "VerDir" Formware seems to be just a relabled Alchemy. At least according to his description, it has exactly the same features as Alchemy.

In regular online stores you can get the same router for 55 EU (or even a WRT54GS for 70 EU). And the Alchemy Firmware you can get for free. And this guy is selling the same thing for 99 EU + 7 EU shipping. What a ripoff. :haha2:

I know. I already have a wrt and use alchemy 1. I only was wondering about the 32MB RAM. In OpenWRT forum I read that it is not possible to enable the 32MB cause of available 16MB.

About the price of 99€. Well this is not expensive. If someone will not risk to brick his WRT upgrading it to Alchemy or what ever and he or she will not brick it turning on the hidden 16MB then he or she may buy this "VerDir" router for 99€. I would not but if someone will not do it at his own peril.. well pay for safty :)

jagboy: take alchemy 1.0 - it comes with same features
About doubling RAM... well i'd like to know, how to do this
