    I have a Linksys WRT54G v2.0 router and a Linksys EZXS55W -
5-port Switch, I am trying to make them see each other but
    having no luck.

EZXS55W - 5-port Switch has an uplink port that I connected to the
WRT54G v2.0 router switch port 2 but the router doesn't see the
computers on the EZXS55W Switch. All my IP's have the same
number 192.168.1.xxx subnet 255.255.255.0 router and switch.
    I'm lost

Also can anyone tell me how to give some of my computer static IP
address, I could on the switch by it self but the router is a new
    thing I'm still learning.

If you need more information just ask.

    Thanks

the uplink of the switch should go to another switch's port 1 or hub.... but not go back to the router if I understand what you're trying to do...

I've the same setup as yours and the WRT54G does not have enough ports and I need extra ports for my other machines. So I connected one of the 4 ports from the WRT54G to the PORT 1 of the switch instead of its UPLINK. This I've altogether 7 wired ports for my PC.
