WRT54G v2.2 as a wireless access point?

    Hi,

    I was wondering if it was possible to set up a WRT54G v 2.2 as a wireless access point? At the moment my network is as follows:

    ADSL--> Netgear dg834g v 3 (Wireless Router)---> Wireless Broadcast to Linksys wmp54g v2 PCI card and wusb54g v4.

    I would like to add the linksys router to receive the wireless signal so I can add cabled pc's/desktops if need be without running masses of cable round the house.

    How would I go about this and would it require a firmware upgrade, and if so which one would be suitable for the task in hand?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Subah,

    I have indeed managed to set up the router to act as an access point. I had to flash the firmware to a dd-wrt version (version 23 i think). I can try and give you a guide and e-mail it to you if you like?

    If you want me to e-mail you an idea of what to do, with screenshots etc, just send me your e-mail in a private message.
