    Hi there,

I can't update the router with third-party firmware. It just stops half-way though and shows the grey square with black background. If I go back the progress bar is going on, but starts from the beginning again after some time. Then it stops with the message upgrade failed in a requester. If I update with the newest firmware (v4.20.7) again it completes with no errors. Sometimes it just shows the grey square with black background saying "updates failing". I'd be glad about any help.

    Thank you very much,

P.S. How large is the NAT-Table with firmware v4.20.7?

Reboot your router before doing a retry.

    To Daffel

Reboot your router before doing a retry.

Before loading a firmware you should set the factory default.

The NAT table is (max) 1024 connections great, each connection takes upto 800 bytes in RAM.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't want to risk a reboot after a failed upgrade though.
First upgrading with the DD-WRT mini firmware did the trick though. After that I could flash with the other firmwares via the web interface.
I have the impression that DD-WRT v2.3 isn't that stable on my WRTG54-DE router (v2.2). I used the generic firmware as told in the readme because I did flash via the web interface.
Can I use the tftp DOS tool that comes with Windows xp for flashing with the special DD-WRT v2.3 for WRTG54 routers? Where can I find the official tftp tool by Linksys? Is there a good flashing manual somewhere?
Is there a real difference between WRT54G and WRT54G-DE routers?
    Thank you very much,
