This is my second v2.2 WRT54G because I RMAed my first one. This one too is loosing connection constantly. First, it was only the uptime, but now I had to make a few hard resets. The longest uptime was 8 hours, with no P2P traffic, only ICQ.

I have two computers connected. One via cable and one wireless. (My firmware is 3.03.1 EU)

Should I RMA this one too?

What connection are you having problems with exactly? Wireless? LAN (wired)? WAN (internet)? When the problem occurs, can the wired and wireless computers still communicate? Can you reach the internet from the wired computer? Can you reach the router's web interface at all?

Anyway.. There seem to be serious problems with recent WRT54G's (v2.2, v3.0) or maybe the newer firmwares (needed for v2.2, v3.0). The router regularly reboots (=flashing power LED for some seconds) . The more traffic, the sooner it reboots.

I just bought two WRT54G v2.2's (EU) last week, not knowing about any issues. FTP-ing from a wireless laptop to a wired computer at 2100kbyte/s makes them reboot within 6 seconds! Downloading a 100MB test file from the internet to a wireless laptop (at 480kbyte/s) reboots my WRT54G almost every time (but not always). If you don't transfer that much data, it might take some hours before it reboots, but it always does, every day.

Sometimes the router does not reboot, but either the wireless or the lan/wan (internet) connection stops responding and you have to unplug it.

A friend owns another WRT54G v2.2 (one month old) and has the same problems.

So.. Better ask for a refund. Or, if you can wait, demand from Linksys that they finally solve this, or suspend selling the WRT54G.
