WRT54G v4 and SES problem

I purchased a new WRT54G (CompUSA) this week for my "new" home away from home. It is indeed a v4. I lost a v2 and a WAP54G as a repeater in my New Orleans home - they did not survive bobbing in toxic sludge for 10 days, and they smell too bad to use even if they did. But I digress...

The new router worked well with my HP laptop's built in. I set IPs to static so they match my office setup.

All was fine until I bought a WMP54xx pci card for my desktop. it will not setup w/o using the SES setup on the desktop, and I am seemingly forced to use DHCP and the security settings that it sets itself (WPA). If I try to change to a different encryption level, change the SSID or enable MAC address filtering, it either won't take or will reset the SES so that it locks out the wireles clients.

Is there a workaround for this? I'd like to use WPA2 on the clients, set my own IPs, SSID, MAC filtering, etc. I would rather keep the Linksys firmware. Any thoughts?
