Hopefully someone in here can help out. It seems that alot of people are having problems using this router to play the PS2 online. For the most part, the games work, just not the headset that lets you talk to your friends.

Anyway, I've tried using the 'port forward' feature to open the specific port ranges that the games need. After that failed to work, I enabled the PS2 to be the DMZ. Again, didn't work.

I spoke with someone at Linksys who actually said that the DMZ feature only opens the 'commonly' used ports, but I don't really believe that!

Does anyone know what I can do to get things working?

I dont know if it will work for you . I have mic issues before with socom 3 on ps2 and found a thread somewhere explaining how to fix the problem with WRT54G routers. I will try to explain as much i can remember. First you need to log in to your router and go to section where it says"status" and copy these information in a piece of paper. copy all the numbers in dns1 and dns 2. Then go to section where it says "set up" then copy the local ip address and subnet mask. Now this probably the difficult part to explain because I'm just a newbie when it comes to networking. You need to assign a static IP address to your Playstation 2 and remember to copy that in the paper also. Dont ask me how but i'm no expert. I used static dhcp with 3rd party firmware and I have no idea how to do it with version 5 but you can do search here, I guess. Now you need to configure your PS2 load the game you use and go to network settings and go to add setting. when you get to ip address set up choose manual then type all the information you copied. Making sure to type the correct ip address for your ps2 then test the connection and save. By the way I only tried these by connecting my ps2 directly to the router(wired). somehow I't doesnt work on my netgear wireless game adapter.Since I applied this configuration I dont have any mic issues anymore.
