The power light on my wireless router WRT54G v5 is blinking so I am following this guide to fix it.

    Here

I completed all of the steps correctly but I cant upgrade the firmware using TFTP. Everytime I try to upgrade the firmware using TFTP it fails.

    ----------

First when I tried upgrading the firmware it loads to this but doesnt even go anywhere:

Then after that it goes to this:

I would also like to add that when I was supposed to get these results:

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time10ms TTL=128

Did you set your PC to a static IP in the 192.168.1.x range? I usually use 192.168.1.2 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.1.1. That should get the 2 talking. One method I've found that works with that tftp utility is this. Set the utility to 192.168.1.1, enter your password, enter your firmware file and then set the amount of tries to 99. With the router unplugged, click start on the tftp utility, then plug the router in. I've found that usually around the 15 or 20th try, it will start the tftp process. If you have your static IP set and it's still not working, you can try, in a command prompt, ipconfig /release......wait....then ipconfig /renew. That may get them talking so you can tftp. Good luck.

It didnt work. My computer was set to a static IP and everything. I tried the unplugging method and it didnt work. When I typed "ipconfig/release" in the command prompt it said this:

"The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation."
