WRT54G V5 subnetting to access aDSL gateway on Internet port

    OK. So the V5 wasn't the best choice of the WRT54G family, but it was a gift.

    What I have done is 'bridge' the aDSL gateway to use the WRT54G's PPPoE client. I set it's address to I also stopped the DHCP server.

    On the WRT54G V5 I let it's address default ( but changed the SM to /29 (

    I attempted to use the Advanced Routing under Setup to point at on the WAN interface with a Gateway of but the nasti-gram is
    May be default route already exists. Then tried (more badness) Gateway not directly reachable through that interface.

    Where am I going astray?
