EDIT: Nevermind. Just fixed it, lol. Here's what I did. Went over here: http://www.bitsum.com/openwiking/owbase/ow.asp?WRT54G5_CFE#h13 "Manual reversion (MAC address and serial # restored)" section. Followed those instructions. ----------------- Heya, I was frustrated at my WRT54G v6 router earlier today because it was constantly going dead on me. By dead, I mean that I kept having to powercycling it to get it working, but it'd go kerplunk again after only just a few minutes. (Wired to desktop with two laptops using the wireless) So I looked into installing DD-WRT from the instructions here: http://www.scorpiontek.org/portal/content/view/27/36/ Now what went wrong here was I installed the prep .bin file which made the internet through the router stop working but I was given a management firmware upgrade screen when accessing the router. Now being clueless at this, I upgrade with the vx killer file. So at this point, I know either I've bricked it or I can still recover it. Pinging works, I've tried tftp'ing it with the latest firmware to see if it'll come back. Tried the whole holding the reset and whatever. What do you guys recommend? I'm still going to bother fixing it. Getting a replacement isn't an issue. Suggested to get a GL before we even opened the box but yeah. We'll get one now.
