Do any Linksys routers with Linksys firmware have Telnet enabled? And what would you do with Telnet access to the VxWorks OS?

Telnet access in usually only available in 3rd party firmwares (some Linksys Linux firmwares have a ping or web todo=debug hack).

As you must know, there is no 3rd party firmware for the WRT54G v7, and it doesn't run Linux. With its Atheros chipset it is down a development blind alley (v8 is back to Broadcom), not much encouragement to dd-wrt hackers!

VxWorks is a powerful proprietary OS, can do whatever the designers configure - but there is no default bash shell or busybox utils! Some VxWorks devices provide a crude CLI language interface.

Buy a WRT54GL if you want to be able to do things via Telnet!
