So I have a WRT54G ver 1.1 and can run regular tomato and RAF tomato but id like to use toastmans build for the Qos inbound shaping. No matter that build I choose it flashes then I cannot access the router at 192.168.1.1. even with the pc having a static ip as the site shows dhcp is off.. but still a no go.. I know the pcs static is correct because it sees the other builds without a problem with my staic set address. Please see the video link if you want to see what the router does! the only way it get it back is to tftp a working firmware. I even tried letting it sit between flashes...

Lastly does the RAF build have full inbound and outbound Qos SHaping? I only see outbound.
I will create another thread for the qos as in Netflix, web ect.. but I cant get this build to take for nothing!

Update: google says shibby and toastmans have fixed qos so it actually works and manages both up and down but Shibby builds say MTD too big on a 3.99mb file
    NDUSB-1.28.5x-115-btgui.trx renamed to .bin

How about getting a new router - that one must be 10 years old! Don't really understand question about QoS, the upstream is usually the critical resource that the router is able to manage, pure inbound is dependent on the remote source learning to limit its flow given the dropped packets/ delayed acks. Main benefit of Toastman's is the naming of classes/ defaults that assists you in setting up your connection for your needs.

Yea I am due.. any reccomendations? Shouldn't it work with that router though? is there one say walmart sells that will run better with toastmans ect..?? Also doesn't toastmans allow you to shape the overall bandwith including the downloads?

    Simba:

When flashing, you can select to erase the NVRAM thouroughly. This is a must. If this doesn't help, there are some measurements to reset the router to the default config. There is something called the 30/30/30 reset etc. Google it and try it.

    I Watched your Video.

    1) The guide you read is out of date. Inbound QoS is different now (better).

    2) I *think* you're looking for something from this page (2.4 Kernel builds for older routers http://www.4shared.com/dir/v1BuINP3/Toastman_Builds.html#dir=LLa29IJH

    3) You can also try shibby builds that work the same as Toastman for QoS.

    4) Your router is 125Mhz. This is too slow to handle an modern internet connection. Somewhere between 7 and 15 mbits, you may start to have problems with WiFi & QoS. ( I'm making these numbers up, but I'm guessing I'm not far). Recommended alternatives: Asus RT-N66U (or AC) (~150$), or E4200v1 (hard to find, ~70$). Both these routers are at least 5 times Faster, and feautre wireless N with 5GHz and 2.4Ghz.

    5) Shameless self promotion of my working QoS example: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.ph...rial-and-discussion.28349/page-11#post-229534
