Hey guys...new here so bear with me please :)

Here's what I got set up and what I want to do. I have a home network set up behind my WRT54G that consists of my 2003 std server Domain controler, My Main workstation ( my baby :) ) and my Girlfriend's computer. I am already using Dyndns service so finding my IP is not difficult at all.. in fact I got a webserver already up and running. :)

I would like to set up a VPN tunnel that terminates at the router so that I can get hooked up to my LAN from outside using my laptop's windows XP built in VPN connection.

As I understand it, the WRT54G does not have that capability out of the box... you need to get the expansive WRV54G to do that right ?

Now Is it possible to get a modded formware that does include a VPN tunnel termination at the router ? I can do with PPTP of IPsec...

Any recommendation ? I tried the port fowarding and setting up a VPN server on my 2003 server but i'm just not that good with VPNs so If I can terminate the tunnel at the router that would be sooo cool.

    Thanks a million !

I have modified the previous post to reflect the correct names of the products to eliminate confusion for other readers, the WRT54G was referred to as a WRT56G and the WRV54G was referred to as a WRTV56G.

Yes, you can do this, in fact I have this set up and I am using the WiFi-box firmware. It is also available in the Sveasoft firmware. I will find my complete explanation on how to set this up and repost that.

The best is to upgrade your WRT with DD-WRT firmware as it has built in PPTP VPN server.

Another alternative is to convert your Server into an SSL VPN server using a free SSL VPN server package (cant remember the name. Have a look in google)
