I currently have a WRT54G setup with stock antennas and firmware. I am looking to expand my coverage area to include an outside area and upgrading the firmware.

I am looking for suggestion/opinions if the proposed solution will work.

I am looking to see if the following is possible:

    Internet-----DSL Modem-----WRT54G (w/Static IP)

I am looming at installing a 15 dB 2.4 GHz WiFi Omni Wireless LAN Antenna on the roof.

N-Male to N-Male LMR-400 cable to connects to a Coaxial Lightning Protector (N-Female to N-Female).

    From the lighting protector a N-Male to N-Male LMR-400 cable to connects to a Signal Splitter (N-Female 2.4Ghz 2-way).

Also connected to the Signal Splitter will be a new indoor Flat Patch antenna that connects to the splitter via a LMR-400 N-Male to N-Male cable.

From the Signal Splitter a RP/TNC to N-Male Connector cable connects to the back of the WRT54G.

Is the WRT54G capable of handling this setup. I really wanted to keep costs down to a minimum and utilize equipment that is already invested.

I look forward to your input.

    Thanks,

    bernie
