I have an WRT54G (DD-WRT22#) and an WAG54g connected together via WDS. I use WEP encryption because I can´t get another encrytion to work. Is it possible to connect both in anyway so that I can use WPA encryption?

    Thank you for your answer

have you tried updating the DDWRT firmware? v22 is quite old.

If you really use/need WDS, your WAG is a 1.x version and will works only with WEP encryption !

If you don't need WDS, I mean the WRT "client bridge" mode is sufficient, all the WAG versions works with WPA encryption !

So, my WAG seemed to be a V1.x and my WRT is a V3.1. So the only way is what I have? WDS with WEP encryption? Sad....
So I have to buy a WAG V2 and than I can use "client bridge" with WPA?

Thanks a lot for your help

    No !

WDS is only to repeat the wireless signal !

With WRT as "client bridge" you can get the signal from your WAG 1.x with WPA but, as it is client and not AP, all the PC around must be plugged to it...

Which firmware will get the WRT to "client bridge" Mode? I think my DD-WRT #22 is not able to?! Caus´I don´t find any setting for that.
