Hi, I have a WRT54G with Firmware Version: Satori-4.0 v2.07.1.7sv. Wireless WDS is enabled and connected to a WAP11 to extend my network. Currently WEP128 encryption is enabled but want to change to WPA pre-assigned.

Question: What is the best Firmware Version for WRT54G and WAP11 to do this. (WAP11 has its Linksys original Firmware).

Thanks a lot for your feedback,
    mc tasso.

ok u can do this...put DD-WRT #22 (prefinal3) on the WRT54G and keep the linksys firm ware on the AP and WDS them with that using their MACs and it should work...and as for the encription...i would put that on 64-bit on both...but if u are use the WDS with MACs then encription isnt really needy but will have no affect on the performce what so ever...so u can put it on it...and it should a good network that would be hard to break into...

WRT54G and WAP11 works fine with WRT

Hi everybody, WRT54G and WAP11 works fine with WRT. The problem I have is that I want to achive a stroger encryption than WEP128 is. So I'd like to do this with WPA, which (I think) isn't hacked a this moment. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for the information. So you would recommend to use tinyPEAP (RADIUS) on the WRT54G/GS instead of WPA?

    Did anybody try this?
