You have to enter the MAC or IP of the PC. Click the Edit List of PCs button to select which PCs will be affected by the policy. You can enter the PC by MAC Address or IP Address. You can also enter a range of IP Addresses if you wish this policy to affect a group of PCs. After making your changes, click the Save Settings button to apply your changes

Ah! thank you! just one more thing...i typed in "www.myspace.com" for the URL and that URL seems to be blocked, then i tested "myspace.com" without the www, and it was still able to get in. is there a way to block the whole myspace site?

Select Website Blocking by Keyword and add "myspace.com" or you can be very strict and add "myspace". Even if they search for myspace in google it will block the search.

I have Access Restriction working on my GL but prefer to use K9 Protection. It also enforces time restriction. When you enter myspace.com into the blocked website function everything to do with myspace is blocked. My kids hate it but I would rather be a mean father than one who doesnt care what they do. Its an amazing little program. Best of all its free to the home user.

WRT54GL v4.30.5 Website Blocking by Keyword - Not Working

    WRT54GL Firmware Version: v4.30.5 - 2 New Problems since installing 4.30.5

Started with WRT54G v1.1 ADM6996L Chipset and applied 4.30.5. Status page now shows my firmware as WRT54GL Version: v4.30.5, Note WRT54GL and not WRT54G now.

#1 Internet Policy Names that contained spaces broke and had to be renamed. Not to big a deal, they weren't working anyway so I deleted and recreated them (See #2) - just FYI.

#2 Website Blocking by URL Works Fine for complete URL's however, "Website Blocking by Keyword" isn't working at all, the way this used to work was pretty cool. I could enter a keyword like XXX and any URL that contained XXX, including google search strings, would be blocked.

I can still use keyword blocking in the first Default Policy but not in any subsequent policy. What am I doing wrong. I have included IP ranges and the policy is enabled.

I fixed this by installing 4.21.1 over 4.30.5. However I am trying to discover if WRT54GL 4.30.9 will work on my WRT54G.

    Classification: Firmware Release History
    Firmware Date: 11/06/2006
    Release Date: 01/30/2007
    Last Firmware Version: 4.21.1
    __________________________________________________________________________
    Firmware 4.21.1
    - Resolves issue with L2TP connection
    - Resolves issue with Linux kernel vulnerability
    - Resolves issue with UPnP
    - Resolves issue with Access Restriction
    - Resolves UPnP vulnerability reported by SANE
    - Resolves issue with filter name
    - Resolves issue where service name for PPPoE cannot be added
    - Resolves issue with detecting UHP modems
    - Resolves issue where DynDNS Custom and Static accounts cannot be used
    - Resolves issue with WEP passphrase not recognizing spaces

With a little more digging I found that WRT54G v1.1 can be fixed with 4.30.9 firmware and it becomes a WRT54GL.
