WRT54G Will Not Connect To Internet

I've just bought a WRT54G v6 that for some reason will not connect to the internet.

Just to clarify, when I use my Linksys BEFSR41 v4 (wired router/switch) the router connects via PPPoE just fine, so I know it is not my internet connection.

When I go to the router status page and click on the Connect button it just says "Connecting" and then "Disconnected" without giving me an error message. It just does nothing!

I didn't use the supplied setup cd, I just plugged in and went straight to the router's html interface to configure it. Does the setup cd somehow "unlock" this router's functionality? I've setup countless home routers, what's so different about this one? I'm stumped...

Perhaps your ISP has a MAC ID associated with your connection. Try cloning your computers MAC ID and retry. Another thing you can do, turn on logging and check the log after it attempts to connect. See what update you get.
