WRT54G Wired disconnect + Freeze

I looked around but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem.

My old SR41 router got cooked in a lightning storm a week ago so I went out upgraded to somthing with Wireless capability for future upgrades. Ended up getting a WRT54G V3. Currently I have 2 computers and a VOIP phone connected directly to the router.

My problem is that the router will frequently hang itself resulting in no new connections to the internet being able to be formed.

Any current connections E-Donkey, Bit Torrent, online games and whatnot are not affected and continue to operate. But Neither computer can connect to websites or initiate new connections.
I have tried pinging the router when this happens and I get 75%-100% timed out requests. Also, the router setup page is unable to load. (

The only way I've found to fix this is to power cycle the router.

I have the latest firmware and have already replaced the router once for this problem. It seems to go down quicker when I use Azureus but even without that program it still goes down regardless.

Any suggestions? Linksys tech help seems pretty clueless and their solution is to power cycle the router and then try to troubleshoot from there. But of course once it has been powered the problem is gone and they tell me to call back later.
