WRT54G-Wireless Access Point?

    Hello,
I've done extensive research and troubleshooting with a WRT54G v.5 (Firmware Version v1.50.5) while trying to set it up as a Wireless Access Point and I've come to a point where I'm wondering if this device can be used as a Wireless Access Point at all. The problem I've found is that there is no place to enter the Default Gateway on the LAN interface on the Basic Setup page (or anywhere else that I can find). I've seen pictures of the web interface Basic Setup page on a couple sites that include an option for the "Gateway:", as well as a "Local DNS:" option which my WRT54G does not have.

If anyone can help, here are a couple questions:

Can the WRT54G be used as a Wireless Access Point (rather than a router)?

If the answer to this question depends on the Firmware version can the WRT54G be used as a Wireless Access Point with Firmware version v1.50.5?

Thanks for any help pointing me in the right direction on this!
I'll be happy to post any additional details as needed while I continue my search...
