    Hello,

I am having trouble with my wireless router disconnecting ever so often. The wired machines never have any issues. I use WEP becuase I am in an apartment complex. I have not been able to try it for an extended period of time with out security settings.

Is there an advanced wireless setting that any of you may know of I could try? This is annoying. I have the latest firmware 3.03.6

Thank you I greatly appreciate it.

    additional information

I have a machine about 5 feet away as a test and sees this disconnecting issue. I have seen this with my wireless G and B Cards. Different makes/models.

    Thank you!

This is a fairly common problem. I am experience the same thing. I would recommend updating to the Linksys beta firmware mentioned on the home page. Make sure and get the high overclocked version because the other one didn't solve my problems. With the high version firmware, the connection doesn't drop as frequently.

    beta firmware location?

Thank you for the inforamtion. I am not able to find this beta firmware you are talking about. I checked the WRT54G's main page with no luck. could you provide the url that leads me to it?

    Thanks again!

    Thank you

I will give that a try. Glad to hear it helped you. So may I ask how frequently does the disconnects occur now? I hope they clear that up completely. I had to give up on the wireless and go wired for now because it got so annoying.

    Thanks again!

I can't really tell you how often since the router is off-site, but I can tell you that it has been significantly less often.

Let me know how it works for you.
