WRT54G wireless internet access dead

I've got a befsr41 running between my v3 WRT54G and a dsl modem. I can get my laptop to ping all boxes on the bef and wrt and access both routers config pages. But when I try to access any website on the laptop I get nothing. Is there anything I can do with the stock firmware or any other? Perhaps something glaringly obvious that I've missed?

PS, the wired ports on the wrt operate fine, its purely a wireless issue.

then it is a hardware problem. if you tried different firmwares then it could not be the firmware.

Currently its running the latest v3 firmware. I looked into sveasoft and didn't see any accepatable firmware (ie not beta) that would/might work on a v3. I can access both routers config pages wirelessly via the laptop. I get the feeling somethings filtering net access.

try holding the reset button. because that should "defilter" the filters.
