Hey all. I have a woozy of a problem. I have the WRT54G v2 Router, and upgraded the firmware to the latest version. However, I have the same problem regardless of firmware; it's the access through WEP.

If I do not have WEP enabled, I am able to access the router (and the 'net) with ease. If I do have WEP enabled, I get a supposed connection, but I can't fully establish the connection. I can't reach the router, or anything beyond it.

Does anyone have any ideas in getting this to work?

What type of wireless NIC are using. Is it made by Linksys or another manufacturer? Linksys uses hexadecimal keys some other manufacturers can use both, Use hexadecimal keys only. Use the sme length keys. Do not use a paraphase key generator if you the wireless NIC is from a different manufacturere, since the paraphase key generators from different manufacturers generate different keys. If you use a paraphase key generator use the first key only. If you have a laptop and it has an Intel 2200BG Proset minicard in it upgrade the driver for it to the latest generic vers from the Intel website. The Intel 2200BG Proset minicard has been problematic with some Linksys routers.

I do have a Linksys NIC (WPC54G). Should I get rid of the passphrase altogether?
