HELP! my router and printer work fine with my new laptop "toshiba s611" as long as they are physically connected. I am unable to convert to wireless? I have tried to follow setup but when it comes to disconnecting ethernet cord and going wireless my laptop says no wireless router in raange or something like that. whole purpose in getting router was to be wireless. any help or advise appreciated.

Do you have any ecryption or to you have MAC Address filtering enabled on your router. Which min-card does your Toshiba S611 have? I am assuming you have Windows XP Home or Professional Edition. Are you using a WLAN monitor client? Can you see any Wireless Networks with Windows Zero configuration Service. Do yuou have SSID broadcast enabled?

is it on... most laptops turn the wireless off either be software or a switch
(either for power consumption or for airplanes...)

    make sure it is on...
