I read in other posts that it's pritty much a no go trying to connect these two units together. However, I thought I'd give it a shot anyhow. And amazingly, It Works!!... ... However.... to do this I needed to update the WRT54G firmware to Linksys's most recent official release. Neither the Wifibox, or the free sveasoft firmware versions work.

After having spent an evening trying, I think it's somthing to do with DHCP resolution on the linksys side. When connecting the 300T modem directly to my 'puter, it configures TCP/IP as follows

My Internet IP: (This is not my Real IP!!)

    Subnet Mask:

Now, here is the problem. When I try to manually configure the WRT54G with the above settings, I get 'invalid subnet mask'. I guess this is why the WRT54G is not automatically accepting the DHCP config supplied by the modem, it considers it invalid.

Anyone know if the pay version of sveasoft firmware works?
