WRT54G with WRE54G

I'm having problems with my Linksys network. My ultimate goal is getting a workstation to talk to a range expander which talks to a router.

I have an Internet connection plugged into my WRT54G router. If I connect any workstation to the router directly, with a cable, it works fine. However, I need to connect wirelessly.

When both the router (WRT54G) and the range expander (WRE54G) are plugged in, I can ping only the range expander. If I unplug the range expander, only then can I ping the router. Even when I'm able to ping the router, I can't get on the Web.

I don't know what other information might be helpful, but I'm using Windows XP Pro and a Linksys wireless card. My expander and router are configured to have the same SSID. The expander's default gateway = router's IP.

    Thanks,
    Jason
