I'm having trouble connecting to a
WRT54G with my XP SP2 system.

The latest change I made was moving from WEP (which is quite weak) to WPA with Radius support (gives me better control). THe IAS server is configured with PEAP Certificate authentication (using 4096 server cert and 1024 bit client cert).

    The process is:
    1) Laptop authenticates nicely to Radius
    2) I can see the client in the IAS logs with the expected username and such.
    3) The process stops when gettting to "Acquiring Network Address", indicating some communication problem after authentication succeeded.

I use AES encryption and have a Edimax EW-7106PC 802.11b PCMCIA card on the Windows XP SP2 laptop. The device should work correctly, it authenticates.
Meaning the WRT54G also communicates correctly with the RADIUS server.

If I recall correctly I had it once running with the offical linksys release. Now I'm running the latest HyperWRT (which should not be different here).

What are the most likely problems that I could encounter?
What (connection) settings might I have missed from on the IAS server?
Are there any obvious traps on the laptop?

I'm having the same problem. My other WAPs (HP 420 b/g) work fine with same Radius setup. When I try to authenticate through the WRT54G, it asks for my usrname and password, but then it just hangs. WRT has an account setup on the server just like the HP 420, but I never get a log entry on the server indicating that the WRT is communicating with it. I have tried all different flavors of DD-WRT, Alchemy and Talisman.
