WRT54G/WRT54GS - is it worth it?

    Hi all.

I have been running a WRT54G v2.2 with DD-WRT v23 for some time now. I am quite happy and really have no need to make a change.

That said, I have the possibility of getting a WRT54GS v1.1.

So, here are my questions: is the whole 'speed booster' technology worth it? How does it work? If I get the GS and put DD-WRT on it, will that eliminate the "speed booster" stuff?

I am trying to figure out what I want to do.

    Many thanks,

you can only get sppedbooster to work as long as your wireless devices suppor speedbooster as well

the v2.2 does suffer from large file transfer problems with have a fix by increasing the cpu speed to 216Mhz because of ram incompatibilities with teh hardware.

but as you say your having no problems so tbh best if you leave it.

dont fix, what is not broken.
