I'm not familiar with this beast, but it maybe like the WRT54G and GS series, holding the reset button in for about 30 seconds resets the firmware back to default settings. So after this the password should be back to the default, admin.

Do you need a password when you flash the FW using Linksys .exe flashers? If not you could flash a new FW and then set it up again.

When you upgraded the firmware, was it to a 3rd party flavor? Is it possible that the reset button option was set to false?

You can try the methods used to fix a router when it has been bricked. These allow you to reinstall a firmware and restore to factory settings.

There are a few posts on the forum that explain how. Also, http://www.trilug.org/talks/2004-09-wrt54g/Hacking_The_WRT54G_Presentation.PDF has a section on how to un-brick a router.
