Hi, I've had Verizon Fios for quite some time now and just stuck with their default Actiontec MI424-WR router. However, the router is on the opposite side of my house from where I usually use my laptop nowadays so I wanted to boost the signal in my work area. SO, I got a Linksys WRT54GL and 100ft of Cat5e cable and hooked the two routers together. I've looked through this forum and online and can't quite figure out what exactly to do so I can turn the Lynksis into an access point [one which has the same security, SSID, ect. as my verizon so I have one network with two routers]. I'm a bit new at this in case you hadn't guessed by now. The firmware on my verizon router is standard, and on the lynksis it's the lynksis default 4.30.11. I've tried setting the lynksis into router mode, disabling DHCP, plugging the cat5 into the 4th port and I think my problem is that I'm missing steps here. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
