I'm aware of that but I've noticed that there is always a german and an eu binary so I wonder what the difference is .. I wouldn't want my router to be in german..

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against germans it's just that I'm not able to read that language.

I know, same applies to me. Besides the language there is no difference as far as I know of. Both D and EU use the same amount of channels, only a french or spanish version would be different. I haven't found one yet and I must say I haven't seen them that often for other models either. Personally I use the US versions, because they seem to be further developed and newer - mostly.

    WRT54GL 4.30.2

The firmware 4.30.2 is available here:

Compiled from linksys source: WRT54G_4.30.2 11 channels

    Date 29-dec-2005

    Tested: WRT54G V3.1

!!!!!THIS Firmware is ONLY for WRT54G models V1 to V4 and the WRT54GL V1 !!!!!!

    WDS supports max 4 connections.
    Port forwarding max 10 fields.
    Port triggering max 10 fields.

This is a release build on the linksys source,
I made this release because there were some bugs in the original firmware 4.30.2.
These changes can be found in de tarifa_patch.tar.

    It repairs the incoming log.
Removes a bug in the webpages, some webbrowser had java-script errors.
    Completes the DDNS configuration.

No offence but I don't realy care how stable it is. I need the official one because when there is a hardware problem I can flash it back and return it to the shop. I can't return a pease of hardware without the firmware, then the're always going to deny that it's the routers fault.
