I've managed to flash the firmware of my WRT54GL from 4.30 to 4.30.5 and was able to use it again.

The problem is when I turn the unit off and turn it on again, the power led blinks and then I have to reflash the firmware just to make it work.

Before I could turn this unit off and on without any problems. :frown:

Kindly help me and more power to this forum

try downloading a new firmware image. your own one maybe corrupt.

I both tried 4.30.2 and 4.30.5, they both work and I can use my router again. It's running fine. The problem is when I turn the unit off and turn it on the power led blinks again.

The only solution that I'm doing right now is not to turn off the unit. But that's not normal :(

The power led does blink on bootup when you turn the power off and on again.

are you saying the power led stays blinking for more than say 1 minute?

yes I tried letting it stay for 5 minutes and the power led just blinks.

But reflashing it will make it work again. I just can't turn the unit off.

And I haven't found anyone with the same problem as mine.

I wish I had lots of money so I just can buy a new one and will never flash it no matter what. :(

Have you tried resetting to factory defaults before and after flashing?

I have had a flashing power light (its means 'diag') before, all I had to do was to go into setup change something and press save setttings to clear, so I suspect it can mean an error reading the nvram.

I assume your router still works with flashing power light - or you wouldn't be able to reflash?

yes I've tried that and after resetting the power led will blink again and then can't access 192.168.1.1 even if I leave it for 30 minutes, the power led will just blink.

I guess the temporary solution right now is just to leave it on 24/7
